Sunriver in September

We found that a bike ride just before dusk was the perfect time to
see deer left and right.

Cam got one of his Birthday presents a week early. It took him a little bit

of time, but he soon realized it was meant to be ridden, not pushed.

Dinner at Larks, in Ashland

Anna, Sarah and I got all fancied up for a play that we ended up not going to, Saterday night. We decided to take advantage of the evening and have dinner together at a lovely resaurant in Ashland.

Isabella and Isaiah

Making friends with Sarah's kids (Anna and Sarah are roomies)

Cucumber, Tomatoe and Feta Salad

Anna fed me well this past weekend. She didn't just feed me well, she fed me healthy! (you're awesome Anna!) This is a salad that she whipped up for me while I was there, and I liked it so much, I came home and made it myself. I want to share it with you all because it's so yummy, and really easy!
Cucumber, Tomatoe and Feta Salad
(Serves two good sized portions)
3 Roma size Tomatoes
1 Cucumber (peeled)
1 cup of crubled Feta Cheese
Chop tomatoes and cucumbers, and mix with crubled Feta. No salad dressing is needed, the cheese gives plenty of flavor.

My first trip to Crater Lake

(from the park brochure)
The beauty and intense blue of Crater Lake have awed people for generations. Five miles wide and ringed by cliffs almost 2,000 feet high, the lake rests in the shattered remnants of a volcano called Mount Mazama, which erupted and collapsed into itself 7,700 years ago. Later eruptions formed Wizard Island and other vocanic features, now hidden under the lake. Crater Lake filled with rain and melted snow. At 1,943 feet deep, it is the deepest lake in the United States and one of the deepest in the world.

Base of the Mountain

Before we headed up the mountain, we stopped at the Information Center. The guys behind the counter thought we were nuts and didn't believe us that we were going to ride around the rim on our bikes. We were oh-so-sure that we could do it....until we got to the top!

It's really breezy out here....let's get back in the truck

Break in the clouds

The weather did clear up a little while we were there. Long enough for us to see some of the lake. This is a shot of "Phantom Ship" on the south side of the lake.

So much for biking

Where's the lake??

What, you can't see it? Well, at that point, neither could we.

Biking around Medford

No, you're not seeing double....we DO have the same bikes! After Alysun gave me the tip about my bike, I passed it on to Anna. We took a long, hard ride around Medford Sunday afternoon. It was great!

Bub and Jen's new toy

One of the first things my brother said to me after his first test drive was "Cakes, yeah it's a Great looking car, but wait till you drive it!!!" He was right! This thing kicks hiney! One could get into a lot of trouble with this car,

Samson

I wanted to stay with Bible names and since he's such a strong-willed little guy, I figured he needed a strong name. Samson walks around the house roaring his strong kitten meow. When he wants my attention he will stop at nothing until he's right up in my face giving me a lick or a nudge with his nose. Jericho seems to like him, I don't think she would admit it if you asked her. He chases her and when he stops, she turns around and looks for him. They romp around all over the house and she doesn't even use her claws anymore on him. They've made such good progress, just think how they'll be years down the road.

Koda is another story, when he's excited and loud, Samson gets quite affraid. But they also have their moments, having a nice friendly sniff of the other ones nose. Only time will tell how happy my little family will be.

Good News!

I took Samson to the Vet yesterday and he checked out "Healthy," in the words of the doc "this is a great little guy, I don't blame you for keeping him." Thanks everybody for praying for him!
